What the member app knows about you.

Your first and last name, email address, date of birth, and a photo of yourself taken during signup. The photo is how a leader confirms you are who you say you are. You must be at least 17 to apply.

We keep the signup photo whether or not you are approved, so leadership has a record of who applied and what they decided. If you were turned down and want that photo removed, email us and we will delete it.

Your profile photo and the short tagline you write about yourself. Which team and groups you belong to. Whether you said you were going to an event, and whether you were marked present, late, absent or excused when it happened.

Anything you send in a group chat, including photos, files, voice notes, polls and the reactions you leave. Dua requests you submit. Questions you ask. Which announcements you have opened.

The app also stores a notification token so we can send you push notifications, and it records which single device your account is signed in on, so that signing in somewhere new signs you out here.

Other members see your name, photo, tagline, team, and how long your attendance streak is. They see whatever you post in a group chat you share with them.

Leadership sees all of that plus your application, your signup photo, your attendance record, and a log of any action a leader takes on your account, such as a role change.

Nobody outside Organized Steps Towards Community sees any of it. We do not sell it, we do not run advertising in the app, and we do not use third-party analytics or tracking. We share it only where the law requires it or where there is a safeguarding concern.

When you submit a dua request and choose to post it anonymously, your name is hidden from other members on the dua wall. It is not hidden from the leaders who review the queue. They see who sent it, because they have to be able to follow up and to act if something is wrong.

When you ask a question, it is anonymous to everyone, leadership included. The app never shows your name to the person answering it, and the leadership inbox has no author column at all. There is one exception. If a member reports an answered question for breaking the community rules, that report carries your name to leadership so they can act on it. Short of that, only you can see your own questions.

On Supabase, which hosts our database and file storage on servers in the United States. Push notifications are delivered through Expo and Apple. Emails, such as the one telling you your application was approved, are sent through Resend. Each of these processes your information to run the service for us and for nothing else.

You can delete your account from inside the app, in Settings. It removes your profile, your photos, your group memberships and your personal details. Messages you sent in a group chat stay in that conversation but are no longer attached to your name.

If you would rather we did it, or you want something specific removed, email admin@ostcmn.com and we will handle it and confirm when it is done.

Push notifications, the camera and your photo library are all controlled in the iPhone Settings app under OSTC. Turning off notifications does not affect your membership; you will just see things when you next open the app.
